Item description : This is a Kogo (Incense container) in a Bamboo shoot shape made of Hikosaburo Kiln of Kamachi-yaki. A Kamachi-yaki is a local kiln in Fukoka and originated back in end of 1500's (Azuchi-Momoyama period). It belonged to the Yanagawa feudal clan and made items for Hideyoshi and the Tokugawa shogunate in past time. Please look at the unique shape of Kogo that is made so nicely and into details even in the small parts of the item. We are sure that it is worhtwhile to add it to your collection of Japanese tea items. The name of the kiln is stamped in the bottom and teh name of artist is written on the front og the box with his stamp.
