Item description : This is an elegant Akama Suzrui (an ink stone) made by a famous Akama Suzuri craftman, Mr Takuji Horio(1910-86) with an original wooden box with his signature and stamp. A Akama Suzuri, which is made of the unqiue red color stone as you see, is originally made in 1200's, only in Yamaguchi prefecture due to the reason that the material is only produced in a mountain located in there. Therefore, it is not easy to get the original stones to produce the Akama Suzuri. It is hadrer than normal Suzuri stones and has fine surface. It naturally enable an ink stick run smoothly and makes an indian ink with good quality. Please get this rare and valuable Akama Suzuri to add to your collection.
