Name of item : Kamakura-bori tray with fantastic carving design of rose on the top. A Kamkurabori is originated back in 1100's Kamakura period. It was originally made and used for Buddhist altar or other fittings but it became popular to use for furnitures and dinning wares after a while. They used a cypress, a ginkgo tree in old days because of it sdurability but now use a Katsura tree grown in Hokkaido area. They are soft but strong enough against cracks.

Condition : Excellent There is very tiny hit and scratch seen on the surface and the bottom as shown.
