Item description : This is a fantastic Wajima-nuri Jubako box in 5 tiers with the stand. It could be a museum class item that shows incomparable beauty. Please look at the great Makie design of a paulownia aranged all around the body composed of mother of pearl works. All must be done by a high skilled Urushi craftman in Wajima area that might be impossible technically to make a similar item again in the current market. If you are fan about a Japanese Urushi item, we would strongly recommend you to add this finest piece to your collection. It surely becomes one ofo your treasure.
Age : Probably in 1920-30's
Condition : Excellent. There are thin cracks in the back of the stand but does not appear in the top and on the one of 2 lids due to age and there are very tiny hits seen on the cornes of a couple of boxes as shown. There are thin cracks appeared on the surface in the corner of the stand but all are not remarkable.
