Item description : This is a wooden drum, Mokugyo with a stick and a cushion, used in a Buddhist temple. This is a Mokugyo which is one of the Buddhist altar fittings. It is used especially for Zen-shu, Tendai-shu and Jyodo-shu sect of the Buddhism. It is hit by a stick to arrange a rhythm when a priest resite a suitra. It must be a nice item for a collector of the Buddhist altar parts.
Age : Circa 1970's or before
Condtion : Good. There is color peel-off on the top of the Mokugyo as shown due to age.
