Item description : This is a rare Hagi Yaki tea bowl in Tsutsu Gata (cylinder shaped) with the design of a standing crane (called Tachi-zuru) made by a modern Hagiyaki potter Mr Takeo Yamazaki who owns Shoun kiln. It shows the character of the Hagi yaki, a cutting stand called Kiri-Kodai and sophisticated glazed surface. It is not showy but the unique glazed surface looks so tasteful and elegant. The design of the standing crane was originally designed by Iemitsu, the third Tokugawa Shogun and applied to the tea bowls as a valueable symbol. It could be a nice item to add to your tea bowl collections. The artist signature and stamp is shown on the box. It has his stamp in the bottom, also.
Age : Presumably 1980's
Condition : Excellent in mint
