Item description : This is a Rikyu Namida Chashaku (a tea scoop of tears) Utsaushi(a copy). Rikyu leaf 3 tea scoops made by himslef behind him when he was ordered a ritual suicide, Harakiri. The Namida Chashaku was the one of them left for his first disciple Furuta Oribe, who desigend a Oribe style tea wares in the history, and kept by Tokugawa Bakufu for a long time. The say that teh Chashaku had been kept by Oribe in the scoop holder in black with the small window to pray. He kept this scoop as a keepsake until his death. It looks like natural, simple but holy in some way. Please keep this legendary tea scoop Utsushi for your collection. It is provided a silk cover in purple and a Urushi coated holder. The Mei Namida (tears) Chashaku is written in gold on the front of the case.
