Item description : This is a fascinated Urushi work Tsugaru-nuri jubako box with a handle to carry. A Tsugaru-nuri started production in Aomori prefecture since 1700's as one of promotion of their industory. This technique is so unique and painstaking work. Normally it is used an arbor vitae and apply a Urushi coating several times to the surface and grind gently after that to creat unqiue design. It is their unique technique that has been taken over for long years. Please add this finest Urushi art to your collection. It is made by Ebisuya who has been producing Tsugaru-nuri items for longer than 70 yeras and look at their other works at ebisuya.
