Item description : This is a Gosho Ningyo (Imperial doll) performing a Shishi (Lion) dance. A Gosho Ningyo was appreciated especially by imperial family for their auspicious days in Edo period(1600-1800). The character to describe most is their big head and the pure white color. Therefore they sometime are called “Big head doll (it is one –third of his height)” or “White Mum doll”and had been populr in public. Please look at the doll performing a Shishi dance using with beautiful design of cloth. It must be worthwhile to add it to your collecition of dolls.
