Item description : This is a Wajima-nuri Jubako box with the designs of peony in Chinkin technique. A Chinkin is one of Urushi techniques which is often used for a Yajimanuri ware. It is using a special chisels to carve a variety of designs on the surface and apply a gold leaf or other colors into the carved designs to finish. Any mistakes are not allowed to complete the designs when they are carving one the surface. It was originally invented in China and India, then brough into Japan. Please see the accurate works nicely done on the item that looks so attractive and enchants us. Please add this valuable Yajima ware to your table wares. It is guaranteed that it becomes one of your proud items. The Washi paper inside and the lid of the paper box shows "Wajima ware " in Japanese.

Condition : Excellent in mint . There are thin scraches seen on the couple of places due to age.
