We are very glad to introduce a modern doll artist, Mr & Ms Hisatomi at Kurofuneya on our site this time. They live in Hita, Oita in Kyushu which has the origin of Hakobina Dolls (Hina dolls in a box) since Edo period. They have started their creative activity as a professional doll artist back in 1998 after 20 years experience of a dressmaker and a graphic designer and become one of famous doll artits in Kyushu now. Their character is appeared on the faces and the postures of the dolls which is precisely designed based on the traditional Ukiyoe characters that are never seen on other dolls in the current market of the modern dolls.
