This is a tasteful Takatori Yaki Water Jug with the lacquered lid. Takatoriyaku has a long history since 1600 in Fukuoka, Kyushu and has been famous with their tasteful designs and unique glazed surface. Especially their items in Tea items are appreciated as prominent works and have been popular among people who are fan about pottery in Japan. It is an old item but overall still in good condition. There is no chip and stain but whittled place that looks like it originally had on the backside of the lid as shown. Please add this wonderful piece to your collection at this opportunity.
