This is a pair of handicraft luncheon mat made from a real Japanese Obi. It is really painstaking works to make this item from technical point of view. It is necessary to find out an old Obi in good condition besides with beautiful designs first, then fix the area which contains the designs to cut out with the pattern. Only few items can be made from an Obi due to this reason and would not be possible to make the same designed item again. You can use it practically for a luncheon mat as is, a tapestry or it could be beautiful textile decoration to put a tea bowl on in your room. It is guaranteed that it could be a good entertainning to look at. It is of course 100% silk made. It is a brandnew item.
