This is a Chasen (a tea whisk) with 100 tips made of bamboo which is for a thin tea used. A Chasen is various depending uopn a number of the tip, a thickness and a length of the grip and etc. The most biggeIt was started to use in Muromachi period (1500's). The most largest number of the tips is 120 tips and the next is 100 tips. A Chasen is a delicate item, so it should be dry always after use to avoid getting mouldy. It is a brandnew item. As it is necessary item for a tea ceremony, please keep keep one piece at least in your tea item collection.
