Item description : This is a water jug called Nakaoki Mizusashi, provided with a urushi coated lid in a Shiro-Garatsu. A Shiro-Garatsu is the oldest type of Karatsuyaki wares and the name comes from its beautiful appearance naturally made in a kiln under firing process. It is applied a white glaze onto the body that looks speckled design (called Madara) in white. A Shirogaratsu has been famous with tea wares and Sake Pot as well because of the above reason. Please add this rare water jug to your collection of tea items. It must be one of your proud item. The name of the kiln are shown on the lid with their stamp.

Age : 1970's or before

Condition : Very good in mint. There is a very tiny tip seen on the inside of the edge as shown that is not seen from outside. The Urushi lid becomes slightly shaky and slant when to close due to a natural distortion on it.
